What does “bluff” mean in poker?

A pure bluff has little chance of winning at showdown, so it relies on fold equity. Good bluffs tell a believable story and come from hands that block your opponent’s strongest holdings. A bet of B into a pot of P needs to work B ÷ (P + B) of the time to break even.
