Definition
Freeroll: A freeroll is a tournament with no entry cost, which makes it a low-pressure way to practise tournament play and test ideas.

Because entry is free, freerolls often attract large fields and very loose play. Expect lots of early all-ins, and adjust by tightening up and value-betting your strong hands. Treat them as practice: focus on the quality of your decisions rather than the result.
Example: On the first hand of a freeroll, three players go all-in. Folding K♣ J♦ and waiting for a stronger spot is usually wise.
