What does “nuts” mean in poker?

Nuts: The best possible hand given the current board.

The nuts can change on every street. A hand that is the nuts on the flop may be beaten after the turn or river. “Nut flush” and “nut straight” mean the best possible flush or straight on that board.
Example: On a board of K♠ Q♠ 7♠ 2♦ 3♣, the A♠ with any other card makes the nut flush.
