If you have just been caught bluffing, opponents may call you more often, which makes your value bets more profitable. If you have folded for an hour, your bluffs may get more respect. Image matters most against attentive opponents, and much less against players who are not paying attention.
Example: After showing down 7♠ 2♦ as a bluff, you start getting called more, so you bet hands like A♥ A♣ for full value.
